The name Under A Ton Mixed Dart Club was established in 1992 when 6 different team Representatives, from across Kitchener-Waterloo, attended a meeting in a attempt to join a Dart League which had only 2 openings. While waiting in the hall for the votes to accept 2 new teams, we discussed the possibility of the 4 remaining teams starting our own club on a different night. We had decided on Tuesday nights. We agreed that each bar should have 2 teams so that there would always be a team home and away. Thus we started this club with 8 teams form 4 bars. (As of today we have 16 bars and 28 teams)

It was decided amongst us to elect someone to run this club. The first Executive was elected and Tim Young became the President. He has been voted back in every year since the Club's conception and still remains our  President and Founder. Paul (Moose) Reid was Vice President from 1992-1994. At which time Sue Mann took over from 1994-1996. In 1996 Paul was again voted back in as Vice President and has been such up to 2006. From 1992-1998, our Secretary was Sandy ("Me") MacIntyre. In 1998, the club voted Cheryl DaRosa into office and she remained as our Secretary until 2006  In 2006, Lou DeRosa & Kate Leger were voted into office as the new executive team. Lou will hold the position of Secretary & Statistician, while Kate will take on the role of Vice President while continuing to act as our Webmaster.

Tim Young has run the total function of this club from day one. Our main goal is to have fun playing darts. We give Moneys to Charity and as of 2000 we have played with, and in all, Darts Ontario Shoots. We host a kids Christmas Party, (where every child receives a gift),  and have a spectacular Banquet every year.

In the summer of 2004, Tim Young & Kate Leger (nee Nelson) collaborated to create a website to represent our club.  With Tim's help, Kate has created this site to provide members with a wealth of information, including up-to-date statistics, club events, and Darts Ontario Tournament information.  The overall intent of this new site is to eventually hope that team captains will come here to print out stats, schedules, and other relevant information so that Tim will no longer be required to travel to each bar, every Tuesday, to drop this information off to the teams.  Also, it is our intention that we provide advertising space to sponsors in the hope of helping to raise funds for the club for special events such as the Children's Christmas Party, the Annual Banquet and Darts Ontario Tournament involvement.

The Under A Ton Mixed Dart Club has won the Darts Ontario Affiliate Shoot twice and has hosted 2 Darts Ontario Affiliate Shoots in Cambridge. Members from our club have quite often placed 1st through 5th in the Darts Ontario Zone Shoots as well as in several Singles & Doubles Darts Ontario Provincials Shoots. Members of our club have qualified in the Provincials and play to represent Ontario in the Canadian National shoot and in England.

U.T.M.D.C. Members would like to take this opportunity to thank all who have shown their support over the last 15 years!  We hope that in the year 2017 we will all be able to get together to celebrate our "25th Anniversary"!

Sincerely,

Tim Young, Club President,

Kate Leger, Vice President & Webmaster

Lou  DaRosa, Club Secretary & Club Statistician,
